Cove — Terms of Service

Effective date: 5 October 2026

Before the legal part

Cove is a tool for running a household. It is not a doctor, a pharmacist, an accountant or a financial adviser, and the numbers and reminders it shows you are only as good as what was put into it. Please do not use it as the only thing standing between someone and a missed medicine, appointment or anything else where missing it could cause harm.

Cove is not a crisis or emergency service, and nobody at Cove watches what is entered into it. If someone is in danger, call 911. Anywhere in Canada or the United States, you can call or text 988 for suicide and mental health crisis support, at any hour.

The rest of this document is the agreement between you and us.

1. Who this is between

These Terms are between you and Craft Dreams Co. ("we", "us", "our"), a partnership based in Ontario, Canada.

"You" means the person who opens a Cove household. "Your household" means that household and everyone you give a login to.

By opening a household you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not open one.

2. Who may use Cove

Cove is offered to households in Canada, except Quebec, and the United States. Cove is not yet available in Quebec, because it does not have a French version. You must live where it is offered, and be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a contract.

You may give a login to people in your household who are 16 or older, and choose what each login can see and change. Children under 16 do not get a login; on the Cove Family plan they use Cove on the wall display you set up. You remain responsible for everything done under your household's logins and for the information entered about anyone who does not have one.

Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@craftdreamsco.com as soon as you think someone else has used your household's logins. Changing a password signs that login out everywhere else.

3. What we provide

A subscription to use Cove — the web application at app.craftdreamsco.com, and on the Cove Family plan its wall display — for your household's own purposes, for as long as your subscription is current. Section 5.1 says what each plan includes.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to do that. We do not sell you the software, and nothing here transfers ownership of it.

The features that use AI (turning a brain dump into tasks, breaking a task into steps, and reading a photo or file) are limited to 150 requests per household per calendar month on Cove, and 300 on Cove Family (and during the free trial). When they are used up, those features pause until the 1st of the next month; everything they do can still be done by hand, and the rest of Cove is unaffected.

AI results can be wrong. A model can misread a photo, misjudge a date or invent a detail. Cove shows you what it found before anything is saved; check it, especially dates, times and amounts. You decide what is kept.

New features may be marked early or "beta". They may change or be withdrawn, and are offered as they are. If we give your household Cove free of charge (for example while it is tested before launch), these Terms still apply, except the parts about paying; we will give at least 30 days' notice before any charge starts, and nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

4. Free trial

Every new household gets 30 days free, starting the day you sign up.

  • No payment method is required to start. We do not ask for a card until you decide to subscribe.
  • The trial runs from sign-up, not from when you confirm your email.
  • Subscribing early does not cost you trial days. If you subscribe during the trial, you enter your card then, but the first charge is on the day your trial would have ended. (Within the last two days of the trial, the payment system cannot wait that long, so you are charged when you subscribe.)
  • When it ends, if you have not subscribed, your household becomes read-only for 30 days. You are not locked out. Everything stays visible and exportable; you simply cannot add or change anything until you subscribe.
  • 30 days after that, access closes. Nothing is deleted — your data stays where it is, subscribing reopens all of it, and you can download a complete copy at any time, including after access has closed. See the Cancellation Policy.
  • One trial per household. Opening a second household to get a second trial is not what it is for.

5. Subscription and payment

5.1 Price

Plan Price Billed
Cove, annual CA$65.00 Every 12 months
Cove, monthly CA$7.25 Every month
Cove Family, annual CA$99.00 Every 12 months
Cove Family, monthly CA$10.99 Every month

There are two plans, each paid yearly or monthly, and each covers everyone in your household.

  • Cove includes the brain dump, tasks, the calendar, routines, meals and decluttering, for the adults in your household on their own devices, and 150 AI requests a month.
  • Cove Family includes everything in Cove, plus the wall display, children's profiles, chores and Cove's Adventures, and 300 AI requests a month.

The free trial includes everything in Cove Family. On Cove, a wall display set up earlier stops showing your household, and you cannot add a child's profile; nothing already entered is deleted, and switching to Cove Family brings it back. You can switch plans, or between yearly and monthly, from the billing page (Settings → Plan → Manage). A change starts straight away, with the unused part of what you have paid credited towards the new price, except moving from yearly to monthly, which takes effect when the year you have paid for ends.

If you subscribed before 5 October 2026 at CA$50.00 a year or CA$5.50 a month, you keep that price and everything it included, including the wall display, for as long as that subscription continues. Section 5.4 still applies to any future change.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. If we are required to charge sales tax (GST/HST in Canada, or a US state's sales tax), it is added at checkout and shown to you before you pay.

When you subscribe, Stripe emails you a receipt, and we email you a summary of what you bought, the price, when you are first charged, how renewal and cancelling work, and links to these Terms and the other policies, so you have a copy you can keep and print.

5.2 How you pay

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. By subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms.

5.3 Renewal

If you pay monthly, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month, at the price then in force, until you cancel. You may cancel at any time — see the Cancellation Policy. We email you 7 days before each monthly payment with the date and the amount, and send a notification to your devices unless you turn it off in Settings → Notifications.

If you pay yearly, your subscription does not renew by itself. It ends at the end of the year you have paid for unless you choose to keep it, in Settings → Plan. We email you, and send a notification to your devices, 30, 14 and 7 days before the year ends and the day before, with the date and the price. If you choose to keep it, it renews on that date at the price then in force, and you can change your mind until then. If you do nothing, nothing is charged.

5.4 Price changes

We may change prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change affects you, and it will never apply to a period you have already paid for. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.

5.5 Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry. If it keeps failing, your household becomes read-only rather than deleted, and follows the same 30-day path as a cancellation. Your data stays where it is and paying at any point restores everything.

6. What you agree not to do

Do not:

  • Use Cove to break the law, or to harm, harass or surveil anyone.
  • Enter another person's personal information without the authority to do so.
  • Resell, sublicense or rent access to your household.
  • Try to break the separation between households, access an account that is not yours, or test our security without written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except where the law says you may regardless of what this document says.
  • Use automated means to scrape or overload the Service.
  • Upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful or that you have no right to upload.

If you break these rules we may suspend or close your household. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right and to export your data.

7. Your content stays yours

Everything your household puts into Cove remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us only the narrow licence we need to run the Service: to store, copy, transmit and display your content so that we can show it back to you, back it up, and provide the features you use. That licence ends when you delete the content or your household, except for encrypted backups, which age out within 30 days.

We will not use your content to train artificial-intelligence models, and we will not sell it or use it for advertising.

Suggestions. If you send us an idea, a suggestion or feedback about Cove, we may use it to improve Cove without owing you anything for it. This covers the idea only: your household's content stays yours, as above, and we will not name you without asking.

8. Availability

We will make reasonable efforts to keep Cove available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may take it down for maintenance, and will give notice where we reasonably can.

We do not offer a service-level agreement or availability credits.

9. The important limits — please actually read this

9.1 Cove is not professional advice

Cove helps you record and organise things. It does not advise you.

  • It is not medical advice, and not a medication system. Reminders are a convenience. They can be missed if a device is off, a notification is blocked, a battery is flat or the internet is down. Do not rely on Cove for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as medication.
  • It is not financial, tax or accounting advice. Budget figures, savings projections and insights are arithmetic performed on numbers you entered. If the numbers are wrong, so are the results.
  • It is not a medical record, a legal record or an accounting record.

Decisions about health, money and care remain yours, and should involve the appropriate professional.

9.2 Reminders and notifications

Push notifications, emails and calendar syncing depend on third parties, your devices and your network. We do not guarantee that any reminder will be delivered, or delivered on time.

9.3 Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

9.4 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from a missed reminder or an incorrect figure.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event, and (b) CA$50.

9.5 What these limits do not touch

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. In particular:

  • Nothing limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, your own province's or US state's consumer-protection law, or any other consumer-protection law that applies to you, and nothing here requires you to waive any right that Act gives you.
  • Nothing excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Cancellation, refunds and closing your account

See the Cancellation Policy and the Refund Policy, which form part of these Terms.

In outline: cancel any time; you keep full access to the end of the period you paid for; then 30 days read-only; then access closes. Nothing is ever deleted because you stopped paying — subscribing reopens everything, and the export stays available permanently. Deleting your household is a separate act you take yourself, with a 30-day window to change your mind.

We may close your household if you break section 6, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering it, we will give you at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data, and refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Cove after that means you accept the change. If you do not, cancel — and if the change lands mid-period, tell us and we will refund the unused portion.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Please write to us first: support@craftdreamsco.com. Most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.

If we cannot resolve it, the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in Canada or in the United States, nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim where you live, or from using any tribunal or small-claims process available to you, and nothing here takes away the protection of the consumer laws of the place where you live. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver.

13. Odds and ends

  • Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given up the right to.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms. We may, on notice, to a buyer of the business, or to a company we set up to run Cove, on the same terms.
  • Things outside our control. We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by something we cannot reasonably control, such as an outage at one of our suppliers, a power or internet failure, or a natural disaster. We will tell you and do what we reasonably can.
  • Notices. We send notices to the email address on your household's full-access logins. You send them to support@craftdreamsco.com.
  • What continues. Sections 7, 9 and 12, and anything about your data after you leave, continue after these Terms end.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and the Cancellation Policy are the whole agreement between us.
  • Language. These Terms are in English.
